Boxer is a mobile email application made in Austin, TX by Boxer, Inc. (“Boxer”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Boxer respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the Personal Information that you may provide us when using our website or mobile applications.
Information we collect:
Boxer is a mobile email client that works with other providers (Gmail, Google Apps, iCloud, Yahoo! Mail, AOL, Hotmail, Outlook.com, Microsoft Exchange and other accounts). When you log into your email account in Boxer, you are granting Boxer permission to securely access your information contained in or associated with those accounts. You are also providing your email address by logging into the application.
Where possible, Boxer uses OAuth, which is an open standard authorization protocol that allows third parties to access user data without the need to know a user’s password. This helps to keep your information as secure as possible. We never know or store your password on our servers.
When you correspond with us through email, you provide us with your name and email address. If you email us, we may keep your email message and contact information in order to respond to your message.
Boxer does store some information locally to your device, such as user-assigned priorities and due dates.
Boxer has the ability to access your device’s contact list (emails and names) in order to add email recipients quickly and securely to email messages you send. You will be asked for permission prior to Boxer accessing your contacts, and can revoke access at any time through your device’s settings. We will not use your contacts’ information for anything other than providing the Boxer email service to you.
Boxer sends you push notifications whenever you receive a new email message. You can turn these on or off by modifying the settings within the Boxer app, or within your device’s notification settings.
Boxer uses mobile and web analytic software to gather statistics and usage trends for product improvement purposes. The Boxer mobile software may record data from your phone or tablet, such as how frequently you use the app, what actions you take, performance data, the type of hardware and software you are operating, and others. This kind of information helps us to administer the Boxer service, improve the features and usability of our product, analyze new user trends, and collect information about use and growth of Boxer in specific regions.
We may use the information we collect or receive to communicate with you directly, such as occasional emails with company updates or surveys. We may also keep track of your interaction with the links in these messages for product development purposes. If you do not wish to receive these emails, you can opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the bottom of the emails, or by emailing us at email@example.com.
Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. Boxer complies with industry standard security practices to protect your data. Boxer uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and other encryption technology to protect your data where applicable.
Boxer’s services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without proper parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal information, we may take actions to terminate the account and any information provided. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
